Lahore, November 05, 2012: Tetra Pak, world’s leading food processing and packaging company, has last week launched a new communication campaign to create awareness about the nutritional benefits of drinking safe and healthy juices, especially as part of the breakfast meal.

The objective of the campaign is to create consumer awareness about the value of complementing meals with a healthy beverage in convenient and safe Tetra Pak packaging. It also highlights the importance of packaged juices as a vital component of a balanced diet.

“Packaged juices have always been the product of choice for health conscious consumers who want to stay active and healthy. The six layered Tetra Pak cartons protect nutritional value of the juice without the need of any preservatives. Conveniently available from grocery stores and other retail outlets, packaged juices are the perfect dietary complement for all meals, especially breakfast which is the most important meal of the day,” remarks Kashif Bhatti, Marketing Director Tetra Pak Pakistan.

The campaign includes an engaging graffiti art competition, which offers young juice drinkers in academic institutions to win lucrative prizes. The graffiti art competition will be held in seven major cities.

In the first phase, students of art schools will paint imagery related to health, nature and happiness on giant wall-sized canvasses. In the second phase, high school students and teenagers will express their creativity by painting on life- sized Tetra Pak packages. All participating entries will be judged by celebrated art critics and winners will get exciting prizes.

Juice consumption helps provide the body with the water it needs for hydration and the energy. Juice products are made from naturally healthy and refreshing fruits and are a good source of Vitamins A and C, which help protect against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular diseases and other serious ailments.

In Pakistan, where the compound annual growth rate of the juice, nectar and still drinks sector exceeds 16%, more and more health conscious consumers are drinking packaged juice to supplement their healthy and natural lifestyles.

LG takes learning and education to a new level with its quiz show, titled ‘LG One School One Library, in the country, giving students a platform to showcase their talent

Karachi, November 05, 2012: LG Electronics, a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics,mobile communications, air conditioners and home appliances,has launched its Knowledge Academy programme for students. The programme, which includes a unique and the first-of-its-kind quiz show, titled ‘LG One School One Library’, (PARO AUR AGEY BARO) aims to engage the youth of the country in a high-quality learning experience on television.

Targeting students from Grade 10 to 12, the LG One School One Library invites them to utilize their knowledge and intellect in an enriching learning experience, showcasing their talent on a national level. The programme encourages the talent of children, engaging their minds in an intellectually stimulating show, giving impetus to their academic growth.

LG has begun its search for the best young minds in the country through an online selection process. Contestants were required to register online for the programme. The second filters for the final contestants are on online test. The final contestants are selected by a panel of educationists based on the evaluation of the online test results. A final set of 80 candidates are selected for the final contest. The winner of the grand finale stands a chance to win a scholarship worth Rs.1, 800,000.

The genre of the ‘LG One School One Library quiz show will be education, knowledge and entertainment.

HBL Declared “Strongest Bank In Pakistan”

ZONG and Huawei establish state-of-the-art GSM laboratory at NUST

Islamabad, November 27, 2012: ZONG – the international brand of China Mobile and Huawei – a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider have established a state-of-the-art GSM laboratory and training center at National University of Science and Technology (NUST) to liaison with the telecom industry’s needs by creating a bridge between the academia and the corporate world.

With the expertise of China Mobile Pakistan and Huawei’s investment of US$ 1.3 million in hardware, the GSM laboratory will be providing exposure and hands-on experience of operating high-tech GSM equipments which can be used as platform for further Research and Development (R&D) for Value Added Services (VAS).

This lab is to be used for study purposes; the lab is a complete telephone network including a GSM mobile infrastructure with one MSC, one BSC and one BTS, HLR and media gateway.

The lab will also provide the platform for development of software, tools and patches to remove discrepancies. It will familiarize students with the fault, configuration, security, network performance management of telecom infrastructure.

Mr. Fan Yunjun, CEO, ZONG said that the GSM lab created by ZONG is a fundamental part of their corporate social responsibility as helping young people access quality technological education will lay the foundation of cultivating talent necessary for the advancement of industry and development in Pakistan.

Speaking at the launch Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Liu Jian said “I am pleased to learn that ZONG has initiated such a marvelous project to help the talented students accomplish their goals. And with HUAWEI’s laudable investment of 1.3 million dollars, I am confident that this lab is furnished with the latest technology where students will be able to gain experience related to practical application of communication standards.”

New “Life’s Good” Campaign Allows LG Fans to Create Customized Video for Sharing

The campaign features Min-woo Hwang, more commonly known around the world as “Little Psy”. Coca-Cola partners with Mehreen Jabbar for a sitcom

Karachi, November 01, 2012: Coca-Cola Pakistan and internationally renowned director Mehreen Jabbar, have partnered to produce a creative 13 episode sitcom for television, based on an important social message. The series promote the value of shared meals with family and friends, with this unique initiative being a part of Coca-Cola’s larger Coke & Meal campaign. The primary objective of the campaign and of the sitcom, appropriately titled Coke Kahani, is to rejuvenate the spirit of shared meals; building on how the simple act of eating together, rather than by oneself, serves to strengthen bonds, encourages sharing and caring, and instills a ‘live positively’ attitude towards life in people. The first episode will be aired on Saturday, November 03, 2012 on Pakistan’s eminent entertainment channels.

“Coke Kahani” has been directed by one of Pakistan’s leading female directors, Mehreen Jabbar, and has been produced by Adeel Farhan. The script has been written by the notable writer, Syed Muhammed Ahmed. Adding further weight to the sitcom is a cast of leading actors like Faisal Rahman, Syra Yosuf, Yasir Hussain and Sonia Rehman. The distinctive feature of the sitcom is its sophisticated cinematography; the colors, framing, lighting and especially Mehreen’s talent of illustrating stories within stories by employing the narrative style of diegesis. The sitcom explores the complexity of modernity and the paradigm shift in family and friends relations with regard to personal interaction. The sitcom being light-hearted in nature will aim to revive the spirit of eating together with family members and with friends, by weaving in the narrative; the importance of meal time conversation.

Speaking about this creative initiative, Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager, Coca-Cola Pakistan and Afghanistan stated: “Family is the bedrock of society, and family meals eaten together is the binding force that keeps the bedrock strong over time; this is what Coca-Cola believes and as a socially responsible corporate entity, we decided to take this message to the people in an entertaining way through Coke Kahani, in partnership with a really talented young director, Mehreen Jabbar who has already proved her mettle both nationally and internationally.”

The sitcom has been developed by MCONTENT (Pvt) Ltd. Like Coca-Cola, Mehreen too believes in the power of shared meals with family and friends; eating together gives a sense of identity, resolves internal conflicts and tension, and most importantly, gives family members precious moments and memories that stay forever.

Mehreen is a noted Pakistani filmmaker and television director/producer. Her full-length debut film Ram Chand Pakistani won the FIPRESCI PRIZE from the International Federation of Film Critics and received Honorable Mention by the 13th Annual Satyajit Ray Awards at the London Film Festival, 2008. Her drama serials have also received numerous national awards.
