Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Launches A Nationwide Initiative for Retailers’ Capacity Building

Lahore, June 17, 2013:Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited launched “Coke Tow”, a nationwide initiative that is premised on CCBPL’s commitment to inspire innovation and collaborate for success. This project will build the capacity and develop the skills of thousands of Coca-Cola retailers.Coke Towwill partner CCBPL employees with retailers,to provide them with business development trainings as well as soft-skills coaching. This project will help retailers grow their business;increase profitability;provide relationship-building exercises; and teach customer attraction and retention techniques. By developing its retailers’ skill sets, Coke Tow will not only ensure that its retailerscan sustain regular growth but also strengthen theirbusiness for the future.

The Coke Tow mobile fleet was launched as a pilot project in May 2012. It travelled across Lahore and Faisalabad to conduct sessions andtrained over 1,000 retailers. When asked about their experience, retailers described it as “a great initiative by Coke – it has given us a brilliant insight into retail techniques and will definitely help us grow our business and connect with customers.”

After the success of the pilot project, CCBPL hasdeveloped 7 mobile training fleets that will travel across the country. Coke Tow will begin its journey from Lahore and travel on to Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Islamabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and finally end in Karachi. As these fleets make their way across the country, CCBPL will train over 10,000 retailers and shop-keepers.

Speaking about the Coke Tow initiative, CCBPL’s General Manager for Pakistan, John Seward, said: “At Coca-Cola we firmly believe that the business can only grow if our business partners continue to grow with us. Coke Tow is a unique project that will have a far-reaching positive impact upon Pakistan’s small business owners. With these newly acquired skills, retailers will not only be able to effectively retail Coca-Cola products, but also all of the other consumer products they sell in their shops and outlets. In addition, Coke Tow will benefit consumers by enabling trained retailers to provide more efficient and courteous service.

LG unveils its latest convenience-enhancing products in Pakistan

Karachi, June 20, 2013 – LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innova-tor, has continued to push the barrier in consumer electronics with the launch of its flag-ship 2013 Smart models in Home Entertainment and Appliances at a grand event.

At the heart of LG’s innovative new smart features include the 55-inch Cinema 3D Smart TV (55LA8600), the Linear Door-in-Door refrigerator and the 6 Motion™ Direct Drive washing machine. In combination with LG’s signature technologies, the new ap-pliances deliver energy, time and help enrich consumer’s lives.

Next generation viewing with Smart features
LG’s flagship model, the 55LA8600, takes inspiration from the consumer to create the simplest and intuitive user experience possible.

The Smart Control features allow users to easily access their favorite programs, premium and newsworthy content, and practical applications through the customizable Smart Home interface projected on the TV screen. The user can access the menu content with the aid of LG’s upgraded Magic Remote, which entails simple command options such as point, wheel, gesture, and speak.

LG’s SmartShare technology allows users to browse and share files from external de-vices wirelessly on the LG Smart TV or watch TV on another smart device. New SmartShare features are Tag On, Time Machine II, and LG Cloud. The Tag On feature allows mutual content sharing and mirroring by simply “tagging” the smartphone to an NFC sticker provided with the TV.

The LG 84LM9600 is the world’s first 84-inch Ultra HD 3D TV. At 84-inches, picture quality is taken to a whole new level with four times higher resolution than Full HD.

The new 2013 models embody LG’s minimalist CINEMA SCREEN Design. The TV’s bezels have been significantly reduced to provide a greater sense of immersion. Smarter Home Appliances

Emirates A380 to Fly to the City of Los Angeles

A380 on Emirates’ Longest-Distance Route to Los Angeles commences in December 2013

DUBAI, UAE – 24 June 2013 – Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, today announced an upgrade of service from Dubai to Los Angeles (L.A.) with the introduction of the flagship A380 starting on December 2nd, 2013; bringing Emirates award-winning service to its first U.S. West Coast destination and facilitating connections to the western U.S.

“Demand for our award-winning onboard service has steadily grown and customers have been requesting our industry-leading A380 to L.A. for some time now,” said Orhan Abbas, Emirates Commercial Senior Vice-President of the Americas. “As Los Angeles is known for its luxury and the Hollywood lifestyle, bringing our A380 into the market was a natural fit as it allow every Emirates passenger the chance to experience the glamorous life at 35,000 feet before they arrive in L.A.”

The 489-seat Emirates A380 offers 14 Private First Class Suites, 76 lie-flat beds in Business Class and 399 spacious seats in Economy Class. First Class passengers have access to two Onboard Shower Spas, while all premium passengers on the upper deck can socialise at the Onboard Lounge with an array of beverages and snacks. Passengers in all classes of service experience Emirates renowned hospitality, receive a generous baggage allowance, have inflight Wi-Fi and mobile phone connectivity, as well as access to the industry-leading ice entertainment system which boasts more than 1,400 channels of films, TV programmes, games and music. This aircraft replaces the Boeing 777-300 ER which has serviced the route previously.

The A380 service will operate daily as EK215 departing Dubai at 0820hrs (local time) and arriving at Los Angeles’ Tom Bradley International Terminal at 1250hrs (local). The return flight, EK216, departs Los Angeles at 1600hrs (local) and arrives in Dubai at 1950hrs (local) the following day. The arrival time of the A380 in L.A. will offer passengers easy connections to desirable destinations in the U.S. such as Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Diego and Honolulu.

The announcement of the A380 on the airline’s longest route in terms of distance comes on the heels of last week’s announcement of A380 service added to Zurich, Switzerland. The A380 to Los Angeles compliments the double daily A380 flights already in place between Dubai and New York’s John F. Kennedy airport and becomes the 23rd A380 destination on the Emirates global route network. Emirates, the largest A380 operator in the world, has 34 A380s in service and an additional 56 A380s on order; receiving one A380 delivery per month, on average.

Emirates currently serves six destination in the U.S. in addition to Los Angeles – San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Washington Dulles and New York JFK – and has also announced a new trans-Atlantic route from New York to Milan, Italy, which will begin on 1 October, 2013; providing the only First Class Service between the two cities.
