Ufone Balochistan Football Cup: Aqua FC Quetta claim the title of this year’s championship

Quetta: Aqua FC Quetta claimed the title and lifted this year’s Ufone Balochistan Football Cup’s trophy at a thrilling final after beating Noshkal Baloch FC Noshki 2-1.

The final at Railway Ground Quetta was attended by a large crowd including general public, dignitaries, media and management of Ufone. Secretary Sports Balochistan, Mr. Manzoor Ahmed was the Chief Guest. He handed over the trophy to the winning team.

“It is a great initiative from Ufone. These kind of activities not only promote good health but also help build confidence in the youth and provide them a competitive opportunity”, Mr. Ahmed said.

Earlier on in the first half, Aqua FC Quetta played a defensive knock in the first ten minutes of the game while Noshkal Baloch FC kept attacking. However, after the initial defense Aqua FC geared up the aggression and made several attacks on the Noshkal’s goal but could not get the ball past the goal post. No goals were scored in the first half.

Noshkal Baloch FC’s Abdul Malk scored earlier in the second half to take the lead in the match. After a gap of 15 minutes Sher Hassan from Aqua FC scored an equalizer to keep club’s hopes alive for the title. It was not until the last few minutes of the game when Aqua FC’s Nasrullah scored on a penalty to ensure his team wins the trophy for this year’s championship.
This year the championship took place in six cities, including Quetta, Pishin, Khuzdar, Chaman, Loralai and Noshki. The championship had 30 teams, five from each city and engaged 450 young footballers.

Ufone believes the championship has helped promote football in the province and proved to be a great platform for the emerging young players who learnt and displayed excellent footballing skills. The initiative shows Ufone’s commitment to the people of Balochistan, which enunciates with the company’s tagline “It’s all about U.”

WebOS Enters Next Phase as Global Platform Under LG’s Stewardship

Seoul, April 2, 2018― As part of a broader effort to make webOS even more accessible to today’s consumers and industries, LG Electronics (LG) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a federal government body to more actively advance its philosophy of open platform, open partnership and open connectivity.

The National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) is the governmental body within South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) responsible for developing the country’s IT sector. LG will solicit webOS business proposals from hundreds of start-ups recommended by NIPA and shortlist the most viable ones to provide logistical and technical support with commercialization as the ultimate goal. With LG’s backing, startups will take part in international events such as Open Source Summit and OSCON to share their ideas and initiatives with other industry influencers.

Toward its goal of expanding the webOS global footprint, LG developed an open source version of its platform, webOS Open Source Edition, now available to the public at http://webosose.org. Developers can download the source code free as well as taking advantage of related tools, guides and forums on the site to become more familiar with webOS and its inherent benefits as a smart devices platform. And because webOS is a Linux-kernel-based multitasking OS with support for HTML5 and CSS3, webOS will be quite familiar to even new developers.

“When LG adopted webOS for our popular smart TV lineup in 2013, it did so with the knowledge that webOS had tremendous potential,” said Dr. I.P. Park, Chief Technology Officer at LG Electronics. “webOS has come a long way since then and is now a mature and stable platform ready to move beyond TVs to join the very exclusive group of operating systems that have been successfully commercialization at such a mass level. Pakistan’s first beachfront housing project launched in Gwadar district

Karachi, April 05, 2018: With surging real estate demand in Gwadar because of CPEC, a local company, Eiwan, launched Pakistan’s first beach front, resort style housing project called Oshun by Eiwan. Envisioned as a ‘resort style living’ community, this iconic project is nestled in between pristine beaches on one side and miraculously carved mountain ranges on the other, making Oshun by Eiwan, the finest address in Pakistan.

One hundred and fifty real estate dealers flocked to the launch event for Oshun by Eiwan held in Karachi, with the expectation that the project marks a new beginning for the real estate sector in the country. ‘In my 30 year experience in this business, I have never seen such a high level of professionalism and trust in an urban developer,’ shared Rizwan Ahmad, a prominent real estate dealer who travelled from Rawalpindi to attend the event.

While owning a slice of the new silk route is becoming a reality thanks to CPEC, there are lots of real estate firms selling property in Gwadar. Not all of them are trustworthy. You have to pick to a developer you can trust. For too long, local investors, overseas Pakistanis and young professionals have had to navigate a notoriously low trust market, which makes property investments unnecessarily complex and risky in Gwadar.

Fortunately, the Consultants Group, which was given end to end responsibility by the Government of Baluchistan to manage Sangar – Gwadar’s number one housing project – has now launched a new private sector, urban development company, called Eiwan (www.eiwan.pk). Emirates and flydubai support Golf Tournament in Karachi

Karachi, 9th April 2018: Emirates and flydubai supported a Golf tournament for 96 amateur golfers at DHA Golf Club in Karachi.

The 18-hole tournament allowed the participants who came from all over the country to showcase their skills, patience and focus. After five hours of exciting and intense competition, Farooq Javed was announced as a winner for the longest drive hit (276 yards). Adnan Mehmood succeeded in 1st Net with a score of 63 while Akhtar Aliman was the runner-up with 69. In 1st Gross, Owais Intesar emerged as the winner with a score of 75 while Abdur Rehman finished second with 79.

Vice President, Pakistan for Emirates Jabr Al-Azeeby, commented on the occasion: “We are proud to have co-sponsored this golf tournament with flydubai. LG Once Again Earns Top Honors at 2018 Red Dot Awards

Signature Kitchen Suite Pro Range Oven and LG CineBeam Laser 4K Projector Recognized for Industry-Leading Designs

Karachi / SEOUL, April 18, 2018 — LG Electronics received 21 honors at this year’s Red Dot Design Awards, one of the world’s top three design awards alongside iF Design Awards and IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards). Of the products recognized, two LG products shone the brightest with Best of the Best honors: the ultra-premium built-in Signature Kitchen Suite Pro Range oven and the high-end LG CineBeam Laser 4K projector, which were judged among the best of 5,300 designs from 59 countries.

Jubilee Life teams up once again with Charter for Compassion Pakistan for ‘Collaborative Libraries’

Karachi, April 24, 2018 – Jubilee Life, Pakistan’s leading life insurance provider, has once again partnered with Charter for Compassion (CfC) for their ‘Collaborative Libraries’ project for the academic year May 2018 – May 2019. Jubilee Life’s collaboration with CfC began in 2016 and has facilitated setting up school libraries across various areas of Karachi.

With over 400 schools participating and a reach of over 50,000 youth and adults, the purpose of the Collaborative Libraries project is to create a bridge between the privileged and underprivileged schools of Karachi. This association intends to spark interactions that stimulate conversations and activities focused on nurturing peace and compassion amongst these children. The initiative simultaneously endeavors to revive the concept of habitual reading thereby combating the academic downfall prevailing in our communities.

Jubilee Life will support CfC in organizing annual Compassionate Book Drives, arranging visits to the libraries, participating in dramatic readings and compiling and sharing educational material. Along with the books being provided by the privileged schools, CfC also undertakes the responsibility to provide furniture, computer systems for students to view educational videos, solar powered lights and other electrical fixtures, added flooring etc. to the adoptee school.

To make the partnership meaningful, Jubilee Life’s employees will personally engage with the students at the sponsored schools by providing mentorship and guidance through various CfC initiatives like the ‘Compassionate Talks’ and the ‘Big Sister & Big Brother Program’.

 Dual Sensing Control

One of the most impressive features of LG’s MULTI VTM 5 is its Dual Sensing Control which helps the air conditioning unit evaluate climate conditions down to the smallest detail. Unlike conventional air conditioners which only track temperature, the MULTI VTM 5 measures both temperature and humidity levels for outdoor and indoor environments. This widened range increases part load efficiency and enhances the MULTI VTM 5’s ability to quickly reach the desired temperature. The MULTI VTM 5 features an enhanced bearing system layered with PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) – an advanced material normally used in airplane engines – this efficient infrastructure allows the MULTI VTM 5 to operate for sustained periods without any oil. In addition, the MULTI VTM 5’s Smart Oil Management uses sensors to check the compressor’s oil balance in real time, minimizing unnecessary oil recovery operation.

Large Capacity ODU
With an innovative biomimetic fan, 4-sided heat exchanger, and improved compressor performance, the MULTI VTM 5’s efficiency and capacity have each been enhanced, making it possible for a single ODU to reach 20 HP. Utilizing research from the Seoul National University’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the engineers behind the MULTI VTM 5 drew on inspiration from humpback whale flippers when designing the fan. Moreover, the solution’s advanced biomimetic fan significantly increases wind capacity.

 Ocean Black Fin
Equipped with LG’s exclusive Ocean Black Fin, the MULTI VTM 5 is protected from corrosive substances such as salt, sand and other elements brought in by sea winds as well as industrial pollution. The black coating of the Ocean Black Fin heat exchanger keeps water from accumulating in order to minimize moisture buildup. This durability enhancement prolongs the product’s lifespan and lowers maintenance costs, paving the way for improved performance.

Auto Dust Removal
Unlike previous models that required manual cleaning, the Auto Dust Removal feature allows the LG MULTI VTM 5 to provide fully automated, convenient cleaning. The feature removes dust on the outdoor unit’s heat exchanger by reversing fan rotation to eliminate accumulated sand and dust. This makes it possible for users to operate their air conditioners comfortably without worrying about the malfunctions that can occur due to dust accumulation, a particularly welcome addition in desert climates.
